Sculpture • Drawing • Jewellery • On July the 29th 1988, a small Polish boy by the name of Marcin Wojcik was born. Labelled a faith birth, Marcin had outstandingly defied all odds placed upon him. This truly remarkable self-survival storey is the most talked about epic tales known to the small Polish community.Whilst being shipped to Australia, the cargo container carrying Marcin had mistakenly fallen over board amits the extensive seas of the Atlantic! Exposed to the strong Atlantic winds from the west, caused the container to change course, re-directing Marcin towards the isolated, Easter Island. During these difficult years Marcin discovered his true artistic abilities, where he carved a series of Moi stone statues. After completing his last statue and having spent four years on the inhospitable landmass, Marcin felt the need attempt a dangerous swim to Australia thus leaving behind his semi-permanent home. Arriving safely into Melbourne’s sheltered docklands after seven years out sea, Marcin enrolled himself to the superior school of McKinnon Secondary College! Engaging in a number of extra curricular activities, Marcin completed his VCE and awarded an honouree High School Diploma. As of today Marcin is perusing his passion in sculpture and is currently studying at the Victorian College of the Arts! He also lives happily two houses down from the legendary Johnny and there relationship continues to strengthen to this day. Note: The material provided is slightly exagerated...just quietly!
