My life is centered around my art, most specifically writing and music. I write and record ambient music with my friend Russell under the moniker "Head of the Scavenger." I'm a largely self-taught musician, which has made things difficult at times, but it has led me to explore aspects that I don't readily hear in most popular music, such as discord, dissonance, minor chords, harmonics, feedback, ambience, drones, etc. I value knowledge highly, but I find institutionalized education questionable. If you can read then you have access to all the same knowledge that the Ivy League crowd has. The best teacher you'll ever have is you. If you don't learn for yourself then you'll spend your entire life following instead of leading.
