The Laboratory Theatre Project’s Mission is two fold:First: The L.T.P. and its members will promote Theatrical Art of the highest caliber, focusing on plays about the unique experience of being human. Our artists are the scientists and the human experience our experiment. Through intimate performance, we seek to create a vibrant forum where multiple viewpoints can be discussed openly and learned from. We invite our audience and our community to participate in all aspects of our process, from post-show talk-backs and staged readings of new works and works-in-progress, to benefit performances and special events. We believe that through these interactions people can learn about others and themselves. We believe this to be this to be beneficial because knowledge is crucial for a community to grow. And we believe that growth is what keeps a community alive.
Second: We will use our status as a fully recognized 501(c)(3) N.F.P. to give back to our community. We will partner with a charity for every production, hosting a benefit performance and helping to promote awareness for this charity throughout the run of the show. This will keep our artists and administrators grounded and united with the community through the process of giving back to others. We never want to forget that the experience of being human is a shared one and that all of us have the amazing abilities to feel and to learn.
