The Luna Moth

an exercise in psychedelic heroism

About Me

The Luna Moth is a band comprised of three parts. The neutron, the proton, the electron. You need all three for it to work. Otherwise you get into like quarks and stuff. And you dont want that. The Luna Moth plays the drone rock. And has a penchant for long repetative songs focused on a bare minimum of chords. They prefer to wring all possible meaning and inuendo out of that minimalist a melody, using the full spectrum of dynamics to express what it is they are opting to express. Then again, maybe theyre just too lazy to write more complicated stuff.Sometimes The Luna Moth is very quiet, and you can hear things in the spaces they leave. Other times The Luna Moth is very loud. And you can only hear them ... for miles ... for days. The Luna Moth has roots in the community, and not in thier hair.

Gig Diary - May 4th 2007 - Statue of Lenin

If the name of the venue doesn't make sense, stop thinking so hard.  It's very literal.  A while back an American brought the toppled and discarded statue of Vladimir Illyich Ulanov "Lenin" ...

Gig Diary - December 14th 2006 - The Rendezvous

The beauty of the Rendezvous' Jewelbox Theater is the theater itself.  Despite its small size, its actually a dinner theater from the 20's or something.   So there are comfy booths and table...

Gig Diary - June 10th 2006 - The Skylark

There are a couple things of note here.  One is that West Seattle (my neighborhood) finally has a venue that isn't in a church basement.   And its a good 'un.   Its smallish, ...

Summer Tour 2005 - Portland/Seattle/Salem/Olympia

Sorry about the delayed post.  I suck.  The four days of tour were fairly similar so I'm going to lump 'em together here. September 7th: Straight from work and two and halfish hours later we...
