I spent many years working as an electronics engineer in the High Tech Silicon Valley of California. In 1999 I could no longer cope with the big city stress, so I packed up and moved to the beautiful Sierra-Nevada mountains. I purchased a "This Old House" in Alleghany (Sierra County) that was built in 1885. Alleghany has a population of less than 100 people and is located about a 1 hour drive NE of Grass Valley. It is a peaceful and quiet town with clean air and beautiful views of the mountain ranges. In the winter we get a few feet of snow, but the roads are quickly plowed.
In the summer I love to garden, both vegetables and flowers. My favorite food is pizza, and I make my own from scratch every Friday night. I'm also a cat lover, and speak their language fluently. However, I do have cat free areas in my house. Some of my other hobbies include amateur radio and collecting various things such as coins and mineral specimens. I'm at home on any four wheel drive road and love to explore the Mother Lode.
I have a web page with many pictures and lots more information about me than I could possibly include here. It's called Magyver of the Yuba River: (www.magyver.com) You're more than welcome to visit.
