The bands history goes back to 2003, when Lukasz (Bielem), guitar player along with Jacek (Jatzo) drummer met up in an abandoned lodge belonging to BURSY boiler room. They started playing for fun, and to kill some time during boring winter holidays in a town of Bielsko Podlaska. They started off with covers of classic metal bands like SLAYER and CARCASS. It was also then that the guys got the idea of forming a band and calling it GRIM but the project failed due to problems with getting the equipment and recruiting new members in the small town. Then one beautiful, memorable evening Leszek (LECHO, a former member of DYING WISH and IN MORTYR) turned up at the lodges doorstep and simply asked if he could just play with them. The more serious rehearsals began in June and resulted in the band creating their own music. A month later we played our first gig at the opening of BUNKIER V2. The name ALTERCATED (to altercate meaning to wrangle) came from Lukaszs cousin, who came across the word in lyrics of a band called DEICIDE.Since February 2005 the band had been struggling to find the second guitarist.
Bad luck and limited skills of those who were indeed eager to join them forced the band to broaden their search. A fortunate coincidence (or maybe not so fortunate ha ha) brought to the previously mentioned lodge of the boiler house BURSY, a guitar player from IN EXTREMIS, a band from Bialystok, befriended in the fight. Within the cooperation between the bands and as a result of an exchange Mariusz (MARYO) joined Altercated and Jatzo filled the empty space in the ranks of In Extremis. Year 2005 brings about the first demo "Death" recorded at Studnia Studio" in Bialystok. The present challenge is to promote and release the
