monostar

The Swedish alternative rock band Monostar originally comprised singer/guitarist Eric Palmqwist, lead guitarist Linus Larson and drummer Jimmy Harlevi, who first began playing heavy metal-influenced music together while teenagers. The subsequent addition of bassist Carl Silver completed the line-up, and after recording a pair of demos much acclaimed in the Swedish music press Monostar became the subject of an intense bidding war, finally signing with Soap Records in 1997. An EP, "The Ways to Bring You Down", followed a few months later, and in 1998 the group issued the full-length "The Airport" including the hit singles "Speed Your Love" and "Jee Is A Loser". During the autumn of 1998 monostar released one more Ep " The Super Trouper Ep" before the band split up and did their Final Goodbye show at Hulfredsfestivalen 1999.
