____Q-DEEZY:Phillys own Qdeezy, The Joc started his career in the entertainment industry a decade ago while attending Temple University.I snuck backstage of Power House in 1997 and gave a on-air personality my resumeThat was the humble beginnings of his career that would open more doors to his success. In 2000, Que then known as Q-Dog became a part of Power 99s Dream Team morning show, working as a street personality.I was on the streets, doing what ever made people laugh and listen. This gave him the credibility needed to become a successful radio jock. Throughout the duration, he joined up with well known DJ, Cosmic Strickly Skillz Kev to continue the success of the longest running Hip-Hop show on the east coast- The Come Up Show.I wanted radio to be my stepping stone to becoming an actor. Thats my dream. I want to be a successful actor. In 1999, while working with Power 99, Que hosted The 10 Variety Show which aired on Local NBC 10. ____DIAMOND KUTZ:Diamond Kuts is the first and only female mixer to have slot on Philadelphia Radio; Her Saturday-night show on Power 99 from 9 pm to 2 am caters to the crowd headed to the clubs; Diamond has been recently added to Phillys number one morning show the Sam Sylk Morning Show on Power 99 where Kuts provides music to get people off their feet during the 8 oclock hour. Diamond is also a member of the very influential Murda Mamis a clique made up of some of the most talented women in the industry. Before radio Kuts had put a series of mixtapes out that caused the streets of Philadelphia to take notice, I started to get my buzz by dropping mixtapes, when I was in school I felt that the only way to keep my name floating was to drop tapes every month during my time away. Alongside the mixtapes Diamond was also the first female DJ to drop an all female rap DVD; the DVD included many prominent female rappers such as Shawnna, Remy Ma, Babs and many other female emcees. Many say Diamonds love for music is equal to her fathers love for Hip Hop; Diamond Kuts' father was legendary Philly MC and hip-hop pioneer Grand Tone, who (along with Parry P, Gary O and Cosmic Kev) was a member of the Grand Masters of Funk. (Grand Tone passed away two years ago.) Diamond got her first DJ starter kit as a Christmas present from her father six years ago. After practicing in her basement and hanging out at Armand's Records with DJ Fat Cat, Diamond starting DJing at Sneaker Villa and spinning in clubs like 027, Palmer Social Club and Club Flow at the age of 18 way before she was even old enough to enter. In July of 2005 Diamond got her big radio break spinning on Power 99s Mix Master weekend for the first time, After I spun for the mix master weekend I got a call from my APD and she called me in for a interview a week later my PD wanted to meet me and that very same day was the day I was hired at Power 99.
Diamonds first position at the station was a 2 to 3 am slot on Saturday morning until her PD was convinced that she should be placed on a more prime time slot therefore giving her the 9pm to 2am slot on Saturday nights, I play a lot of upbeat music during that slot music that females and males can identify with and rock to on their way to the club. Kuts reply on being a female DJ is "I want to be a good DJ, period. A lot of female DJs are satisfied just with being called a female DJ. I want to do the same things the guys are doing. I want to do TV. I want syndication. I don't want to be a local DJ. I'm willing to learn what I have to do to get out of the city and be bigger than that."______________________________________________________
