Paul Robinson/Drummer Online

About Me

Having toured the world for 19 years with Nina Simone,1984-2003 (until her death) I have now started Paul Robinsons Drummer Online. Go to www.paulrobinsondrummeronline.com (band website link), to find out how you can get my playing on to your tracks. You will also find there examples of what you might expect from a certain genre of music. There is also information about my musical past & present. My past includes, Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, Elton John,The Art Of Noise, Sniff "N" The Tears, Paul McCartney, Hans Zimmer, George Martin, Trevor Horn. Jan Hammer, The Buggles, The Pet Shop Boys, Mose Allison, The Proclaimers, Swans Way, Tracy Ullman (They Don't Know About Us) & many more. Right now you should be listening to my 2006 Drummer Online Show Reel, featuring some of the clients that used the service during that year. Track 2 is my 2007 Show Reel, Track 3 is my 2008 Show Reel. Track 4 is the new Ident theme for my Drummer Online web site. Track 5 is a little bit of nonsense from myself, & track 6 was written for a TV/DVD Drama in 2000 (working with Brian May). Apart from the videos of my playing you can see here, there are a few others (Boy George, Kylie Minogue, Nina Simone), plus, extracts of songs from some well known, and some not so well known recording artists. Currently, in-between my Drummer Online home studio sessions I have a few outside sessions & jazz gigs, (Sarah Moule, The Colin Hodgkinson Group (Back Door Too), Lea Delaria & The Mick Hutton Group. I can also be found in London's West End, depping in The Lion King or Chicago, however should the right offer come along :-) I would love to do some more travelling. On the 15th July (2008) we performed the 2nd concert of "Sing The Truth" (the first concert being at Carnegie Hall in 2004), A concert dedicated to the memory of Nina Simone. It featured the Nina Simone group, Al Schackman, Chris White, Leopoldo Fleming & myself, with Bob Dorough taking over the piano chair. We have had some great artists interpreting the songs made famous by Nina. Dee Dee Bridgewater, Liz Wright, Tracy Chapman, Odetta, Oscar Brown Jnr, Simone, (Nina's daughter), Stacy Kent, Raul Midon & more. We have just confirmed the "Sing The Truth" concert dates for July 2009. Our 4 women this year are, Dianne Reeves, Liz Wright, Angelique Kidjo & Simone. Looking forward to 2 weeks in July with this one. That tour completed in February (2010) we will be going to Hong Kong, Australia & New Zealand with Patti Austin taking over from Angelique Kidjo.
I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too! (Don"t forget to check out the band website www.paulrobinsondrummeronline.com).
