Let's see, I'm a type of person you don't run into on a daily basis...for better or for worse. I'd like to believe for better but that decision is yours. I'm originally from Detroit, born and raised. I've been in Arizona little over ten years now. A few of those years were spent proudly serving my country in the Army. I was stationed at Ft. Bliss, home of the Air Defense Artillery, in El Paso, TX. There I was a 14E Enhanced Patriot Fire Control Operator, which basically means I stare at a radar screen and press buttons that deployed million dollar missles...kinda expensive. Don't let the prior military service fool you into believing that I am a supporter of the lousy government we're all forced to 'deal' with. I'm a person who stands up for what I believe in and not the view media superimposes on the masses. Easy for me as I rarely watch television or pick up a newspaper anymore. I'm divorced and have been for the last 5 years or so. That marriage gave to me the most important aspect of my life: my son, Gavin Trent, who is 7 years old now. Kids are beautiful, pure and innocent; a sharp contrast to what, sadly, most of them will 'become'. I absolutely love music and could not live without...nor would I want to, honestly. I enjoy music in almost all genres including rock, rap, dance, blues and reggae. The one I don't like would be sweet bubble gum pop music...uh, it makes me nauseas. A few of my favs include: TOOL (best band ever), Floater, Modest Mouse, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Ghostface Killah, Genius/GZA, Nas, Aphrodite, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha. I like to read, primarily non-fiction with my main topics of interests being spirituality and psychology. That said, is it a surprise my favorite author is Carl Jung? Didn't think so. I also enjoy books on history, the universe/space and counterculture. I do read some fiction and love a good graphic novel periodically. I consider myself to be a very spiritual person. The unknown captivates me. I did say 'spiritual' and not 'religious' as I'm not really a dogma and doctrine type of person and can't place myself under the category of any one organized religion. I take whatever works for me, whether it originates from a religion or belief system or not, and incorporate it into my ever changing view of life and what it has to offer. So, if you want a 'normal' conversation, that's fine. But why stop there when you can have much more?

Books:

I once read that everyone's favorite hip-hop and Hollywood soundtrack producer, the RZA, advised keeping a good variation and mixture of books to read at your disposal. I agree. Carl Jung is by far my author of choice in my predominantly non-fiction library. I also enjoy religious/spiritual texts in all forms including the Torah, Koran, the Teachings of Buddah and Gnostic texts from the Nag Hammadi Library amongst others. I look forward to any insight the contents of that text may hold for me...hopefully. Other topics of interest include human psychology, drugs/counterculture and history and graphic novels.

Heroes:

Heroes? How about the few good, honest people that practice common sense and realize that they must crucify their ego? They're a relief from the overwhelming flood of 'other' people...people that are NOT my hero.
