About Me

Lately life is good. Things have been falling into line and I am no longer focusing on education to the point of exhaustion. I recently moved back to the area and am starting my dream job shortly. Now I just want to find a few more folks to share my joys with, and maybe even start a relationship. My Interests

Honestly, my interests are too great to list. There is little that I don’t find intriguing enough to peak my curiosity. As an undergraduate one major was not enough, and as a graduate I went into interdisplanary studies weaving literature, history, art, politics, and cultural anthropology into my final project. As for out of school I am a huge collector. I will buy almost anything that is campy or kitschy. I also buy a lot of things dealing with space and anything that fits into my own definition of ‘Art.’ My latest interest is in sideshow banners.

I'd like to meet:

First off, I am looking for friends more than a boyfriend. Friends seem to last a lot longer. I’d like to meet some guys in the area with similar interests to mine, but not clones. It is key that you can hold a conversation. I can talk about just about anything and usually do. I am also interested in people who know how to enjoy life and can go stress free, from time to time. I’ve personally spent way too much time searching for perfection in all areas of life and now want to go with the flow, at least for a while. Like many gay men I was suffered from the “bestest-boy-in-the-world” syndrome for far too long.

Music:

Ah, music. What is there to say? I have never been overly into music. I need a decent education in this area, and probably an ear as well. I will say I have the wardrobe of a folk singer, and usually listen to older music. I mostly do that because the writer in me enjoys something that he can understand and follow.

Movies:

I love movies. I will watch just about anything that is free and will pay to see plenty. I usually gravitate toward film buffs and see around 40+ movies a year in the theater. The only thing I avoid these days is horror films---they seem to be all about the gore. I will take an old suspense/horror any day. Recent I enjoyed -- Me, You and Dupree, Clerks II, Superman Returns, The Devil Wears Proda (yes, I like chick flicks), Omen, Inside Man. As for classics, I would say Hitchcock films, generally, and Sci-Fi films like the Planet of the Apes series. For more ask, and email your top five.

Television:

Television is all right but lately they have cancelled all the good shows. For this I would have to turn to DVD collections. Mostly comedy and Sci-fi. The only show I own almost the whole run of is The Twilight Zone, and lately I have been waiting for the campy/cheesy Adam West Batman. What’s the deal there? Have you seen some of the crap on the shelves, and even 3rd and 4th seasons? When is Batman’s day?

Books:

Books are a tough one for me. I have way too favorites. I read a lot for work and for pleasure. I read more American then anything else, and mostly 19th century. My two favorite favorites books are The Scarlet Letter, and Walden. My favorite favorite gay themed novel is The Wind in the Willows, and if you can understand that I will marry you today (that’s legal now).

Heroes:

As for heroes of the ‘super’ variety I will go with Batman and Superman. Anyone who can wear the underwear on the outside and look that good, is a hero in my book. Seriously though, hero is an overrated term these days. There are plenty of people I admire, but I wouldn’t call them heroes. ..
