About Me

Celest E. Ngeve was born in Athens, GA 9.13.81 and has been writing since the age of eight. Her name NGEVE (warrior) is from her Father's roots in Cameroon, West Africa. She writes about the current state and progression of Black people, love, life, freedom, liberation, pain, sorrow, her ancestors, and anything that encourages her pen. She graduated from Clarke Central in 2000 (voted by her peers through Senior Superlatives as Most Likely to Succeed, Best Personality, and Most Talented), Albany State University (2004) where she performed annually at the Neo-Soul Night to an audience of 300+ as well as Groovespeak, Albany's local poetry venue, each Monday. Celest graduated with a double degree in Psychology and Sociology and is currently a Master of Education Candidate (12/06) at American Intercontinental University. She is currently a mental health counselor, counseling children with severe emotional disorders. In 2004, Celest self-published and released her first book of poetry, YOU DON'T KNOW ME (Poetry of a Diva Under Construction) (MSCOFFEEME PUBLISHING Co.) which independently sold 943 copies. Her second book, Butterfly Revolution: She Speaks Again will be released in December 2006. Celest has toured to Tallahassee, FL (Back Talk Poetry Troupe), Valdosta, GA (Poetic Magic), Atlanta, GA (Apache Cafe), opened for Arnesto of BET's Comic View for several comedy shows, and continues to perform at local events in the community. Celest is a member of the Distinguished Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and the Dreaded Mindz family. Her pimary mission is to do EVERYTHING to uplift the community, be involved in progressive efforts to enhance the level of education in the community, spread positive energy and serenity. She also plans to release her first novel in 2008, become a motivational speaker, and open her publishing company MSCOFFEEME PUBLISHING Co. to other artists and writers.
