New American Jesus

About Me

This band has members from Tuscaloosa and Atlanta. We came together in 1996 and have had some diffrent lineups (who hasn't). The music is all original but have been known to play some covers including Gary Newman, Jimi Hendrix and Alice in Chains. As a direct result to the "jam band" craze that hit Tuscaloosa and Athens during the late 1990's, we decided to play more rock and acoustic influenced music rather than take acid and play 30 minute songs with no point. Of course, the scene didn't really accept us and it was extremely difficult to get gigs around the state when you didn't play Grateful Dead and Brown Eyed Girl. We have written many songs which appear on two self-produced albums. The third one tentatively titled "Headaches, Heartaches and Handguns" should be out by November 2006. It is being produced near Little Rock, Arkansas where the lead guitar player is a radio and TV professor at a local college. We do offer heavier tunes along with the acoustic numbers...yes, we love the style that Alice in Chains created with their albums such as Sap and Grind. God bless you Staley...wherever you are.
