I am here for Friends

About Me

Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. An interesting life punctuated by long stretches of simple daily grind. Some of the highlights were going to concerts (especially Motley Crue and Whitesnake at the Meadowlands 1987), summers Down The Shore on LBI, sitting on the ground with friends on a warm night at the Rez, graduating from college, buying my first home, weddings, babies and making it this far. After living in New Jersey for about thirty years, I now find myself in Virginia, where my civil union marriage no longer means anything at all and my wife was magically transformed to my roommate for all legal intents and purposes. Other than the red politics of the immoral majority Alexandria is a lovely place and living two blocks from the Metro makes Washington DC a welcome diversion. It really is exciting to live near such a dynamic city where history is on every street and decisions are made each day which effect the whole nation and the world. I can hardly wait to get some new blood into town though, and see what changes. As usual, I am shy about meeting new people so it is a little lonely, but this too shall pass.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

In no particular order and subject to change based on my mood... Amy Ray, Robert Plant, David Crosby, Melissa Etheridge, Tracy Chapman, Hillary Clinton, Linda Carter (only if she will wear her Wonder Woman costume), India Arie, Bruce Springsteen, Jessica Alba (but only if she wears that black bodysuit), George Carlin, Joan Jett, Bill Clinton (so I can see if he is really as stoned as he looks), Teresa Weatherspoon, Becky Hammon, Yolanda Griffith, Goerge W. Bush (so I can see if he is any less of a dumba** in person), Suzanne Westenhoffer, Gale Harold, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton

My Blog

Don, Rommate Hall of Fame, goodbye old friend

reflections on tying one’s identity to one’s occupation

So.  I am having a hard time being unemployed.  I left a perfectly good job which I excelled at and enjoyed to move to the Washington DC metro area in January and have been staring at the wa...
