About Me

Let me tell you about a project in which I am involved:
SUMMA INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF THEOLOGY
The newly founded Summa International Institute of Theology will help Christians everywhere attain a further measure of biblical, theological, and missionary competency, for a fuller Christian experience, in terms of
(a) a better understanding of intriguing and relevant theological issues; (b) a stronger faith; and
(c) a well informed, contemporary, and effective witness for Christ.
Broadly but firmly defined as evangelical, the Institute does not represent any particular denomination.

FREE INAUGURAL COURSE
The Mystery of God's Silence is the inaugural course. It's free, for any Christian, anywhere (distance education).
The course, based on the work The Silence of God (1897), by Irish author Sir Robert Anderson, deals with the greatest objection to the belief in God and to the Christian faith: a God who loves and is all-mighty, "but allows or does not impede the many disgraces in the world": famine, injustice, torture, natural disasters, accidents, etc.

Now about me:
I am a Dental Surgeon, having also attained the degrees of Bachelor of Theology, Honours Bachelor of Theology, and Master of Theology, all of them from the University of South Africa. Starting now a research for a doctorate in theology. I am a Christian (a progressist and non-fundamentalist Baptist pastor) with a passion for helping people understand rightly and sufficiently the meaning of Christ. I am currently writing a book on God and human suffering and a romance about two young sisters in search of the meaning of life in literature, the younger having a fatal disease. Both books have provisory titles yet, which can still be changed some times before I make a final decision. Respectively The Human Triumph over Suffering and Death and I Transfer to Him All My Being. I live in the sunny, funny, beautiful, disorganized and dangerous city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People seriously interested in Bible/theology, apologetics, Christian mission, gospel communication.

More particularly, I'd like to meet committed Christians (Protestant) who have a research and teaching interest in the areas mentioned, as well as a passion for mission, for possibly working together in the project of Summa International Institute of Theology. This presupposes at least a master's degree in Theology, or in a closely related field, and plans to proceed to doctoral research.
