.. ..I edited my profile at Doobix.com Myspace LayoutsJust a hard-working,very happily married kinda guy who has a bad case of Musicitis, along with Acute G.A.S. (Gear Aquisition Syndrome).
I started out as a 13-year old with a cheap 5-string Banjo, after deciding that the 5 years of Classical Piano wasn't my thang. Taught myself how to play, got a guitar to accompany myself on tape, and decided I wanted to be a rock Star. Played Guitar in many Local Bands, including Kros-Fyre and WTUE Homegrown 2 Artists Mariner. After that ride ended, I played some Country (Gulp), wound up getting fed up with the Music scene in Dayton, and decided I wanted to try trucking for a few years to put money back to finish my degree at Wright State. Well, that was 24 years ago, and I still havn't finished that degree!
I went about 10-12 years without really picking up an instrument. In the meantime, I met and married the most wonderful girl in the world, Shelly, and we raised 3 great kids. Got the bug to play again, She said to go for it, and I've never looked back. I decided I wanted to be a Bassist when I grew up (I always had a bass and played it occasionally), and for the last 7 years have been playing Bass full-time. Started playing Variety music with the Gem City Band, moved to Rock-N Roll with 3PLAY, played with those guys for over 3 great years, then made a tough decision and moved on to LegalEyes. I had a wonderful time with those guys for the last 2 years, but it was gettin' tough drivin' 2 hours a night for gigs, so I rejoined 3play, and started a Blues Project called Final Suspect. All was going well 'till the shit hit the fan at work.
To make a long story short, here I am now in the Youngstown, Ohio area. Transferred here for the old job. This was definately NOT on my top 100 list of places I wanted to live, and it STILL isn't. But, ya gotta do what ya think ya gotta do to support your family. Only time will tell if it was the right move...
Anyhoo, I was recenty rather seriously injured at, of all things, a freakkin gig! I'm gonna be off work, and probably out of the music scene, by Doctor's estimate about 1 year. Really sucks ass. I'm already goin' nuts! But at least I have lots of time to practice and try to improve myself and my playing. Gotta learn how to walk again first though! I'll play when I can...
Don't know how long people are gonna want to see an old, mildly overweight , mediocre Bass Player play Music. But fortunately, My Honey still loves me and is my biggest supporter!
