..Sarah Elaine is rapidly becoming a well known singer/songwriter on the music scene both in Galway and throughout Ireland. Constantly on the search for new gigs and new ground to tread, she has played every major venue Galway city has to offer including the Roisin Dubh, Massimo's, the Quays, Richardsons, Deburgos, Neachtains, Busker Browne's and the Black Box Theatre. She has been interviewed for the Connacht and Galway City Tribune and her video of Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC8oMT7iMqE) was highly praised in Galway First newspaper.
Sarah Elaine has also made a number of appearances on Shannonside Northern Sound, one of Ireland's biggest regional radio stations. Her live version of Hallelujah performed on the Deirdre Kelly show was chosen as one of Shannonside's highlights of the year in 2006. She recently appeared on Charlie McGettigan's programme on a show which also featured famed Stockton's Wing fiddle player, the great Maurice Lennon.
Sarah Elaine is also well known on the Leitrim music circuit, playing at the O'Carolan music festival in May every year and at numerous traditional sessions.
While accompanying herself on guitar, it is her voice that Sarah Elaine is largely known for and comparisons have been made to Sinead O'Connor and a young Tori Amos. Her song writing is constantly evolving and changing, often reflecting whatever music she's listening to, where she is, who she's with or what she's drinking!
At the moment she is working, living and breathing music. The recordings that are up on her myspace are rough and ready but give a basic idea of what her music is about. Hopefully new recordings will be undertaken this summer........ so watch this space.
