Chillie aka Denham

Biography Denham Smith aka "Chillie" is a singer & MC with lots of different skillz, quite difficult to categorize him..no matter wether Reggae or R..n..B, he masters all those different styles in a breathtaking way with his smooth voice and he offers an impressing live performance as well.
Chillie was born as Richard Alvin Smith in St.Ann/ Jamaica in 1976.He grew up in poor conditions as the 6th out of 11 children and music was his way to escape from the daily brutality and misery around him. He started singing in his early childhood, joined a gospel choir when he was 10 years old ,founded his first band at the age of 15"Chilli Hill & tha Crew" and played in Hotels and at beach parties for 2 years.
At the age of 18 Denham decided to come to germany and try his luck there.1996 he formed a band with his friend Nexx and some homies ,"Swing Attack Project" and they did some shows and appeared on festivals in germany.One year after Denham and Nexx signed at PjR and played on the Popkomm, in MTV and VIVA until they left PjR and met Fred, who was by then working on his own studio and three of them started doing some recordings together.
In 1999 Denham signed at N-Studios and released several tracks and mixtapes, had appearances with 2 4 Family, Ayman, Beverly Knight,Capleton and many others.
In 2002 he toured the clubs all around western europe,colaborated with DNV on his album and started producing his latest mixtapes:"100% Hydro".
Right now he is working on a new, more reggae- oriented album that is going to be released this year.
