BlackWatch

About Me

BlackWatch is a triple guitar metal assault, with influences based in death metal, power metal, hard rock, celtic folk music, and classical. Complex and powerful, with triple gui 5b4 tar and vocal harmonies, BlackWatch is a massive aural barrage. Influential bands include In Flames, Iron Savior, Dismember, Danzig, and Katatonia.

BlackWatch formed in early 2002 in Raleigh, NC. The original members were Dan, Michael and Mark doing a three-guitar project, first called Triumvirate, and later Triune. Mark had recently returned from college. Michael and Dan had played together in Shadow Lore, with Dan playing bass and Michael guitar. During highschool, Michael and Mark had also played in Visceral Remains, an all out brutal death metal band.
In July of 2004 BlackWatch released its three-song demo to great acclaim. BlackWatch then immediately stormed the scene, playing a busy schedule of gigs, with many great bands at great venues.
In and around 2005, BlackWatch lost both Bassist, Jim Griffin, and Drummer, Drew Hagarty.
The band took time during the lull in shows to focus more on an album, which they worked on for the next two years. In 2006 BlackWatch picked up a new drummer, Andy Bertrand, and Bassist, Jerry Bollibaugh. Thus, they were able to work on completing the album. Also, with the arrival of a new drummer and bassist, BlackWatch was able to resume gigging, and did so with gusto.
May of 2007 brought the completion and release of the first BlackWatch album. The album is self titled, and is nine songs totaling ab 5b4 out 34 minutes.
At this point BlackWatch will be entering another lull, at least in regards to gigging. Mark is moving to Michigan, and Michael is going to the mtns. to get out of the city. However, they are already planning their second album, much of which is already at least partially written. BlackWatch will be a virtual band for the near future. However, do not be surprised is you see that they are playing shows in the Raleigh area a couple times a year.In other words, they are not quitting, but will no longer be a full time band either.
We, the band, would like to thank all of the fans, supporters, friends and family who saw us through until now. You guys have made it worth doing!!!
