Karlos, Leeroy and Scott began making music a couple of years ago, some time after their previous bands SWAPMEAT and CLOSET PANIC SNIVELLER had folded. They soon found a like-minded brother in Leemo who was playing in the now defunct AND THEN THE DEAD GIRL SCREAMED. For more details on these bands see blog above.
PAHLEMIK played their first show mid-2006 and hit Bergerk! Studios soon after. With long-time friend Al Smith at the helm, the 5-track EP was thrashed out in a frenetic afternoon session. The result is 'Please Take Care When Disposing of Each Other'. Check it.
"Everything about Pahlemik's first EP is alluring - from it's carefully handcrafted package to the smorgasbord of musical styles and imagination encoded within the disc itself" - Matthew Hogan, Drum Media
"Strange new idioms slam down when dance-rock, oi and math-mosh become entangled in some out-there anarcho-punk commentary, grooving sometimes, jarring elsewhere" - 78 Records
"Somewhat more accessible than its parental lineage, Pahlemik is a mix of the absurdity and aggression that members have honed in their past endeavours with a new focus on bankable hooks such as new Kalamunda Shire anthem 'Text me A Riot'. By the time 'The Light Fantastic' was swinging Pahlemik were on top of their strange and somewhat sideways game; tight as hell the boys proceeded to kick out one of the most enjoyable jams the Hydey has produced of late – a fittingly cohesive end to the night’s noise-art cacophony" – Grant McCulloch, Xpress Magazine
'Pahlemik are a crazy, yet jiving band. No, they don't play jive, but they have some. Take Primus for instance - they often break out some crazy and even outlandish riffs then skillfully and fluidly go back into the 'main' song. This is how Pahlemik are and they're pretty darn good at it, not to the extent of Primus, but one day perhaps. Every now and then there's something not quite right, but that something is meant to be. Pahlemik keep you on your toes because you sure can't stand still' - FasterLouder.com.au
