About Me
Soul Muzzik was born from the basic concept of having music with no boundaries. It is was I like to call my “liquid orchestraâ€, always flowing and taking on various forms. Sometimes it is a vast array of musicians, instruments, and ideas; while other times it is just me by myself.
As we evolve more and more into this “global cultureâ€, many traditional social barriers are coming down and people are beginning to integrate at a much more rapid pace. Too often, we sell ourselves short by putting up false walls that prevent us from truly understanding others.
We now live in the age of information, and so we don’t have an excuse to live in the same “closed-minded†manner of our prior generations. We owe this to the many great men and women who fought so hard for us to achieve what we have now. Don’t get me wrong, we still have a way to go, but what frame of mind will you be in to face the future of your life? What you do today directly affects your life from that moment on, so it’s best to understand where you want to go.
It is very counter-productive to continuously complain about your life, when you have so much, and others have so little. If we would make an attempt to understand the plight of those less fortunate than us, it will in turn give much more meaning to lives that we live each day.
If you are able to read this on the internet, I can already think of a few things that you can look toward to be happy about. What we should do is stop focusing on what we don’t have, and start focusing on what we do have.
I give no weight to anyone who just continually complains about their situation, but does nothing to improve on it. It is one thing to be mentally or physically not capable, and it is another to choose to do nothing. It is one thing to express disapproval for something, it s another thing to continuously complain without merit. The “do nothing†people have no one to blame but themselves. Opportunities are all around us, but many people feel that they are “above†doing some of the work it takes to create the life that you want to live. Remember: “Anything worth having is worth working forâ€.
We create our reality by what we accept and believe as true. Your thoughts, ideas, and beliefs manifest themselves in the way that you live your life. The way that you treat other people is a reflection on how you feel about yourself.
If you believe that you are not worth anything, or that you don’t have the ability to achieve great things, then you won’t. It is very hard for others to believe in you, if you don’t even believe in yourself.
On the other hand, if you believe that you were just born to be better than other people, you will have a hard time understanding others. Confidence is powerful, but arrogance is the kiss of death. Arrogance puts you in a reality that is different than the people that you interact with, this is how miscommunication problems occur. You must understand the differences between confidence and arrogance in order to control yourself.
I believe that the music you make is a reflection of how you live your life, so that was why I started with my take on life. Some people choose to create music based on their environment, and others are “fictional story-tellersâ€. It is very important to not get caught up in believing what many of these artists say; that can be dangerous. You must separate reality from a good story.
I teach personal development and entrepreneurial success, creating music is a great outlet for expression. You cannot convey in words the feeling that a good backbeat gives you, or the emotion of a powerful guitar solo. Music gives a voice to many of the feelings that we have which are inexpressible.
By learning about other types of people and their cultures, we can learn a lot about ourselves. This holds true for music as well. If you seek to understand (and not discriminate) other styles, you will learn a lot that you can add to your own productions.
I believe, as Billy Preston (R.I.P) said in his____ album: “Everybody Loves Some Kind Of Musicâ€
My music is not genre specific, because people are not genre specific. It has a mix of Hip Hop, Rock, R&B/Soul, Pop, Blues, Country, Funk, Classical, and whatever else happens to feel right for the mix. I refuse to put myself in the box of only one style of music
I will be opening up the window to my production style while I am working on a few projects. You will be able to see the evolution of some of the tracks from scratch ideas to full-fledged productions. I’m not concerned with portraying a certain image, or catering to any specific group. This is not about me trying to be the next anybody. It’s about doing what is true to who you are.
If you are an artist, and you like something that you hear, let me know; some projects will open for collaboration. All of these are scratch things done in my bedroom, just for idea and blueprint purposes. I purposely leave out many parts, so that you can see what actually goes into these productions, and how one thing can change music so drastically. I retain and exercise all copyrights for these tracks at all stages of productions, so don’t even try it?
I will be changing versions, songs, and information continually, so feel free to drop by whenever to see what’s going on.
Send me a message to find out about my mailing list; this will help you stay informed on the major happenings, and also to receive a little bit of my inspiration from time to time. In addition to the music information, all of my mailing list subscribers receive inspiring quotes, proverbs, and writings to help you on your journey towards personal success.
Basically, Soul Muzzik is what you feel, and what you feel is only confined to the limits that we impose on ourselves.
