A STAR WAS BORN IN JERSEYRah' ill, Ill or Illa or what ever you want to call him, but don't forget to call him the future he would tell you. The 21 year old rapper/producer was born in Newark New jersey also know as BRICK CITY, and raised in East Orange aka ILL-TOWN a small but yet notorious inner city right outside of Newark that bred the legendary hip hop group Naughty by Nature. Ralph "Rah' Ill" Civil was like any other kid growin up in the hood but what made him stand out from the rest was his wild but yet unique imagination. ILLa didnt think like everyone else, he was never bored he said, as a kid he would always search or create something to break the manotany. It could be from throwing rocks of the roof, or messing with neighborhood dope feens or drawing. Illa used to use drawing as a kid to express what he felt inside instead of speaking on it. Soon as ILLa was old enough to appreciate rap music he fell in love, but never realized he would be do the same years later. In High School in at Bloomfield High Illa had a group of friends that rapped, and they had their own rap group. Often they would leave Illa alone and lock themselves in the basement and work on songs. Illa heard the records after they recorded them, and something told Illa, he could songs to. So Illa started writing bars and coming up with punch lines. "Punch lines aint really my style, i just rather say hot shit lol" says Illa. At first Illa wasnt really great at putting words together to flow right but his friends love his ideas and seen the potential, so reluctantly they put him in the group called GANG GARDEN. In 2003 ILLa's family decided to make a big Move to Atlanta, Ga for a better life for the family and keep Illa and his younger brother out the streets of Jersey before it could really affect anymore them than it already did. The move hurt Illa, having to leave his school, job, friends and Jersey, but liltle did he know it would be the best move that ever happend to his life. The South was a whole different world compared to New Jersey, it was slower smoother and mellow. Not having his former group Gang Garden around the corner from anymore made it difficult to get beats on demand. So the Jersey bred rapper decided to prouduce beats on his own and would soon become advance and creating hits like people hear today. Southerners accpeted the The northeners Jersey swag beacause Illa's music cant relate to anyone in the struggle or had been in the struggle. Illa can also rock the clubs floors with his huge party hits. "Being from East Orange and listening to Naughy by Nature influnced me on how anthems should sound and can affect everyone.'" says Rah' ill. And residing in the south also gives him the mellow riding sound u can hear in most southern music. Rah' iLL is the future of hip hop if not hip hop itself.
