I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

When Glory was but a wee child, her mother realized she had a very old soul in direct communication with the past yentas from her mother's family and grand dames from her father's.
Descended from a long line of storytellers, dreamers, inventors, engineers and the occasional trailblazer, Glory fell in with the storytellers and dreamers. This was obviously the wrong crowd since none of them ever made much money.
In addition to these occupations, Glory has been a: tutor, camp counselor, internet tech geek, bookkeeper, nanny, video store manager, comic book store owner, semi-professional student and writer.
In an ideal world upon Glory's graduation from The University of Southern Mississippi she would move to Brazil, finish procrastinating, and complete the three books she has been writing for too many years. Her husband says that Brazil is not a realistic option at this time but recommends graduate school as an alternative.
Glory enjoys singing off key, traveling locally and abroad, visiting museums, checking out local attractions (the cheesier the better), arguing with her cat, snuggling with her dog, admiring her husband's mental prowess, creating outrageously decadent meals with all the calories mailed to anorexic actresses in Hollywood and daydreaming.
Glory also enjoys writing about herself in the third person for the sheer absurdity of it.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Who I'd like to meet? Well, I like meeting most people but the more important question is "Who would you like to have dinner with?"
"Who would you like to have dinner with?"
Brian Jacques-because his descriptions of the food eaten in his Redwall book series is so lovingly graphic that I feel like I can almost taste the dishes. Several of his food entries have inspired me to try to create my own interpretation of foods from the books such as Hot Nut Scones with Maple Cream. I figure that anyone who describes food so agreeably would probably be a receptive dinner guest.
Bill Clinton-because I think he would keep the conversations rolling at dinner. I also suspect that he has a thousand entertaining stories to tell so the dinner would fly by and everyone at the table would lose track of time. That's something I look for in a dinner guest.
Benjamin Franklin, the later years- I read that he tended to listen more than he spoke but when he had something to say people listened. Also, judging by that rotund frame I'm sure he loved food so we would have plenty to talk about.
