Super producer John Bido, the man behind the Geto Boys and Scarface, is at it again! He has rediscovered and will now expose the superlative talents of Mr. Lo-Key, with the production of his first solo LP “From the Ground Up†on RecordNoize.
With a unique and distinct style that captivates any audience he steps in front of, Thomas McCollum aka Mr. Lo-Key is sure not to disappoint. This Houston, TX native has been in the game for over twelve years, touring the country, and collaborating on many platinum selling albums. He began his career as a member of the Scientists recording with Houston producer Crazy C, and this lead to appearances on the albums of recording artists Lez Monie and Big Mello. In 1995, the group was signed to Suave House where they were featured on the platinum selling albums of 8ball and MJG, Crime Boss, South Circle, and Tela, with whom they toured the country. In 1997, the group left Suave House and signed a record deal with Rap A Lot Records, and along with the label change, came a name change. The group changed their name to The Hoodlums. The Hoodlums were featured on four songs off of Scarface’s platinum selling album “My Homiesâ€.
Now, after a move to Atlanta and a several year hiatus, Mr. Lo-Key is back in Houston and ready to drop his first solo LP “From The Ground Up†with the legendary producer John Bido, and in the hands of the man that has produced on the albums of some of the south’s hottest platinum selling artists, such as UGK, Big Mike, Black Monks, and Too Short, to name a few, Mr. Lo-Key is sure to make history!
