I absolutely love learning, my motto is "find me free knowledge." I am excited to have an opportunity to walk away inspired after attending a lecture, going to a cultural event, or speaking with passionate people. I attempt to be as socially conscious a person as I can be. I have been vegetarian since 1993 and have been vegan the past five years. I am a committed environmentalist and have had a long history of human rights work with Amnesty International. I don't understand why we live in a world where people die from starvation and are being killed in wars. I try to live my life to hopefully one day help to eliminate as much needless suffering as possible. I spend a lot of my free time helping to coordinate events for local non-profits and personally volunteer with many other local charities. I especially enjoy volunteering with health related organizations, such as the Make A Wish Foundation, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches. Some of the other organizations I volunteer with are the Entertainment Industry Foundation, Liberty Hill Foundation, Giving Back Fund, Red Cross, and AmeriCorps. On a lighter note, Mindy's video "Mississippi" by Myz Fortune has a bunch of familiar faces in it (including me) and could be the breakthrough hit to launch this local legend.
