1996: Tyr and Desdemon founded a project called DIABOLUS. After some months, when the first permanent line up was complete, the name is changed into ASMODEUS.
1998: Tyr (guitars), Desdemon (bass, vocals), Dargoth (guitars) and Harth (drums) record their first demo Supreme Surrender. Soon after the release, Harth and Dargoth leave the band and are replaced by Lestat (guitars) and Ashrak (drums).
1999: After the first concerts in their homeland Austria, ASMODEUS record their second Demo As the winter moon bleeds. Some more gigs with masters like Satyricon, Behemoth, Hecate Enthroned and Rebaelliun follow.
2000: The third Demo is recorded and released, as always at this time, for themselves. A new era starts, when Lestat leaves the band and Naroth joins the horde permanently. Lots of gigs with this strong formation during the next few years take place.
2003: Asmodeus release their first full length album via Twilight records called Phalanx Inferna. The response for this creation of darkness was amazing and thus the ASMODEUS horde strengthened their position within the scene.
2005: The first tour takes place through Europe with Belphegor, Arkhon Infaustus and In Aeternum. After this tour Naroth and soon after him, Ashrak leaves the band and a new drummer, called Malthus is recruited.
2006: Milestone-Album Imperium Damnatum is unleashed via Twilight Records and promoted, when the band is part of a tour with DARK FUNERAL, NAGLFAR, ENDSTILLE and AMORAL. This tour is followed by festivals in Germany and Austria, where the in meantime called up guitarist Azazel joins the band again, after his tour-appearance in 2005. The current line-up is the strongest in the bands history. A true black metal war machine is ready for destruction.
