About Me

Since he was a little boy, Jonathan was deeply interested in music, and when he was just 6 years old he started to play drum in the church, where his father is a protestant priest. Jonathan is a brilliant autodidact, and at the age of 17 he was already in tour. So, Jonathan started his career with the rhythms of Blues but he was influenced, most of all, by the charming pulsations of Funk, which reflect a significant part of his artistic soul. In the year 2000, Jonathan made his debut in the House Music performing at the Pascià in Riccione (Italy). In 2001 Jonathan performed in Switzerland and in some several clubs of Italy. Thanks to Jonathan’s overwhelming creativity, in collaboration with the dj Luca Schivo and the vocalist Tanya Monies, in 2003 they started a project called “Tribal Experience”, that was published and distributed all across Europe by Tambour records. This first song played by the percussionist sold more than 10.000 copies, and the success was so huge that the dj Jessy Garcia decided to remix the song, published by the label Tribal Spain, that reached inmediately the top of the Spanish charts. Nowadays Tribal Experience is still an important inspiration for Tribal House music all over the Europe. In 2003 Jonathan also performed in some important events as the parties for the Fiat Idea and the Mini Cooper, and he became resident at the “Hulalà NIP Club” in Rome (Italy), where he played with some internationals djs, like the Canadian Alain Vinet, art director of the Cirque du Soleil records. Tribal Experience 2, follows up of his first great success (2003), was remixed by Phunk Investigation. 2004 is a good year, not only because Jonathan published his third production, Tribal Experience 3, also played, in the dub version, by the dj Satoshi Tomiie, but also because he had the great chance to remix “Alive and Kicking”,a famous hit from the band “Simple Minds”, that was published and distributed by Absolutely Records. In 2005 Tambour records edited the single “Believe” with the beautiful voice of Wendy Louis. At this point Jonathan starts to work very hard to a brand new project, different from anything he has done before and, back to his funk origins he got the idea for a Chill-Out album: “Tribal Funk”, composed by 11 songs where funk atmospheres melt with tribal and soul sounds. Jonathan performed, in 2006, at the opening party for the SIB in Riccione, (for the “Love saves the day”’s party) with the great singer Barbara Tucker, and he took part in 2007 at the “Tony Humphries and friends” at the “Urban Club” in Perugia In 2006 the singles "Now that I found you" performed by Dawn Tallman, and "Afrique" with Sara Rivas are released, and in 2008 he collaborates with the dj Luis Radio where Jonathan played his percussions in " The Mood". Jonathan signed in 2008 with "Purple Music" as producer, drummer and dj and he started 2009 with the track "Sunday Light" featuring June Grey. The vinyl includes dj Kemal's remix. Jonathan Meyer plays X-Drum drums and Ufip cymbals.
