Maq ITO is ex.member of Nord, which is fronteer unite of japanoise, japanese noise.They released their 1st album from pinakoteka records , japanese regendary avangard label ,at the same time as Keiji Haino.Both of them have originated japanese characteristic noise ,avangard sounds.Also, he collaborated with contemporary japanoise unites,too.
Merzbow and Nord collaborated, and the recording of this collaboration was released from ZSF records , private label of Merzbow.
Also solo artist Maq ITO has collaborated with various artists , like Keiji Haino, Mikawa of Hijo Kaidanan ,and many Butoh dancers.Character of his sound at Nord era is called as ritual, pscychedelic, and electorically shermanic. Sustaining this sound character, ITO is always changing his sounds into alternative phase. Recently his sound is close to technoise muslc , which is new aspect of japanoise music.
