「J・レゲエ」という言葉すらなかった頃か゠‰ã€ã„ち早くメジャーフィールドに切り込み〠å¸¸ã«ã‚·ãƒ¼ãƒ³ã‚’切り開いて来た第一人者。 レゲエにヒップホップやR&Bといったさまだ–ã¾ãªã‚¸ãƒ£ãƒ³ãƒ«ã‚’æžœæ•¢ã«å–ã‚Šè¾¼ã¿ãªãŒã‚‰ã€æœ€å¤ §ã®é­…åŠ›ã§ã‚ã‚‹ãƒˆãƒ¼ãƒ³ã®é«˜ã„ã‚¹ã‚¦ã‚£ãƒ¼ãƒˆãªå£°è³ ªã¨ç¾Žã—いメロディーで、レゲエの枠を超えだŸå¹…åºƒã„å±¤ã«æŒ‡ç¤ºã•ã‚Œã€äººæ°—ãƒ»çŸ¥ååº¦å…±ã«æ—¥æœ ¬æœ€é«˜å³°ã®ãƒ¬ã‚²ã‚¨ãƒ»ã‚·ãƒ³ã‚¬ãƒ¼ã¨ã—てその存在゠’確立している。2003å¹´ã€ãƒ¬ãƒ¼ãƒ™ãƒ«ç§»ç±å¾Œã®ç¬¬ä ¸€å¼¾ã¨ãªã‚‹ã‚¢ãƒ«ãƒãƒ ã€ŽRise Again』をリリース。7月にはレゲエの本場・ジ ャマイカで開催された 'Sum Fest' にも出演した。デビュー10周年目となる2006å¹´ にはゴダイゴ、サザンオールスターズのカバ ーを含むオールカバーアルバム 「Adapt」、2007年には2年ぶりとなるオリジナム«ã¨ã—ては通算8枚目となるフルアルバム「SOWA KAã€ã‚’ãƒªãƒªãƒ¼ã‚¹ã€‚ãã®å¾Œã¯æ€’æ¿¤ã®ã”ã¨ãã€å…¨å ›½ã®ãƒ¬ã‚²ã‚¨å¤ãƒ•ã‚§ã‚¹ã‚’こなし、10月には熊本〠å¤§é˜ªã€åå¤å±‹ã€æ±äº¬ã®ãƒ¯ãƒ³ãƒžãƒ³ãƒ„ã‚¢ãƒ¼ã‚’æ•¢è¡ Œã€‚同時にDJ BANAがミックスを担当したMIX-CD「MOOMIX」のリムªãƒ¼ã‚¹ã€‚2008年には約1年ぶりのニューシングル 「うまれたての瞳」7/16には待望の通算9枚目㠁®ãƒ‹ãƒ¥ãƒ¼ã‚¢ãƒ«ãƒãƒ ã€Œã™ã°ã‚‰ã—い世界」をリリ㠃¼ã‚¹ã€‚MOOMIN (Universal Music)He started singing asa a reggae singer in Yokohama area near Tokyo around 1992. His first visit to Jamaica in 1995 stimulated and fueled his creativity and resulted in writing now a MOOMIN classic, quintessential reggae ballad, “Moonlight Dancehall”. The song become a huge hit in clubs across the nation and is like an anthem among club-goers and reggae lovers. “Moonlight〜” 7 inch was also on the best seller list of “El Paso” record shop in Montego Bay. In 1996 he appeared on “Reggae Super Bash” concert held in Japan with among reggae giants such as Bounty Killer, Sanchez, Sparaga Benz and others. He signed with Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) and released his first major label single “FLY AGAIN” in 1997. His sweet and high-toned voice and beautiful and catchy melodies quickly captured hearts of listeners. He has 9 albums under his belt, all met with both critical and public acclaim. His 3rd and 4th albums performed selling over 100,000 copies each. He has appeared (with reggae singer Miki Dozan) in Tower Records “No music no life” campaign posters in the summer of 2001. He is one of the most popular reggae singers in Japan and maintains a busy live performance schedule all the year round.
