~CHOLA~AKA QUEEN OF THA TONEBIOGRAPHYThe names Chola aka Queen of Tha Tone. I was born and raised on the southeast side of San Antonio, TX. Growing up in a musicians family I would watch my dad perform all kind of gigs, and I would sing on stage with him. I loved music from an early age so I decided to pursue it. From the age of 8-13 I was at The Medina Children’s Home where I got involved with Christian activities, and numerous sports. I would sing in the choir for the leaderships for Christ, and would compete with other choirs in Texas. At the age of 13 I hit a bump in the road when my grandfather died and got involved with “the wrong type of crowd”. I was on the run from the laws a lot and in and out of the juvenile facility. I was always fighting, hustling, and partying. After being kicked out of three san Antonio schools I became pregnant with my daughter. While I was pregnant with her I went to a charter school called Por Vida Academy and made up 3 years of high school during the time I was pregnant. I had my daughter in 2003 and graduated with a high school diploma in 2004!Right before I graduated I happened to run across a studio called ghetto booth records. I would always “battle rap” my boys but I had never laid down a track so this was exiting to me. I got in tha booth and put down my first track. When the owner of ghetto booth Mr. Crow got locked up everything seemed to come to a stop. Then I met up with Scam another member of ghetto booth and joined his label Undeniable records. We finished our mix-tape and started performing at various places like The Boss Bar, The Hot Spot, The Venue, The Falls, and many more. When my contract was up I decided to do things on my own.Making the label Chola Entertainment just happened to come to me. I noticed it was a lot easier doing things on my own and not having to answer to anyone. Now with 2 kids to take care of I started doing shows with reputable people like Caroline Rodriguez, Powda, Juan Gotti, Rasheed from Dope House Records, Gemini, Magno, Ice, Chuy Loko, Jes Latino, Fade Dogg, Kyle Lee, and not to mention all the local artist I’ve done shows with.Since I was doing a lot of shows almost 4 days a week with Bubble-Rap Inc they made a show called The Queens of Tha Tone. This is where the song came from, and this was our theme song. When I started doing a lot of shows with Kyle Lee my name was official Chola aka Queen of Tha Tone so I ran with it and decided to make my city proud. I decided it was time to expand so I started doing shows in surrounding cities. San Marcus, Austin, etc. I took a step back and realized it was time to give back to the community. I started organizing Chola’s 1st annual Xmas after Xmas Toydrive for the Medina Children’s home.This project started off slow. I had no idea what it took to put on a show. I had no venues, no performers, no idea what I was doing !!!I didn’t know how to talk the business part of the biz. With the help of Sa Urban and Hm management people started to take me serious and help out. The first show was at Mingles night club Jan 4th 2009. Recording artist Ice from Icehouse Records and J Twiss participated. The next show was at The Boss Bar with Caroline Rodriguez pitching in to help. She donated a mp4 player and the money I raised from both shows went to buying toys for he kids. It was a success thanks to all the artist, sponsors, Hm management, and Sa urban..Now here it is 2009 almost 6 years later from the time I started recording and have gotten so much accomplished. I’ve done tracks with so many different people like Ghetto Booth, No Comp, Aggravated, Mr Mono, Zigzag of Nb Ridaz, Scam, Locita, Rapaholics, Mr.Flow, Juan Gotti, Caroline Rodriguez, S.C.G, Bdown, and more. I’m now working on my new album, and an album with myself and Mr Flow so be looking out The Queen of Tha Tone’s on tha rise and this years going to be prosperous thanks to the good Lord, my man Andy, my kids Angelica and Xavier,, my step kids Andy and Matthew, family, and friends who have stuck it out with me day to day!
