About Me

Intelli-Shred is a guitar instructional method that I created over the last several years of teaching, playing and performing guitar. Its a different way of looking at the guitar and the fingerboard and teaching rock guitar improvisation. It'll be released in the coming year by the National Guitar Workshop (for whom I do clinic and campus tours), and Alfred Music Publishing. DiMarzio pickups, Morley Wahs, Peavey Amplification (JSX series) DR Strings (Black Beauties 6 & 7 string sets) and COOL Juratec picks.

My Interests

Music:

Influences: For influences I first draw upon my kids, my life and just vibing off people in general. I love to watch and observe people..the beauty..the ugliness..the laughter and the sorrow..the good and the bad. As far as guitar or musical influences/heroes:..Hendrix.. Steve Vai.. Joe Satriani..Yngwie Malmsteen..Andy Timmons..John Petrucci.. Randy Rhoads..Hank Williams..Johnny Cash..Waylon Jennings..Wille Nelson.. James Kelly (my Grandfather)...John Sykes..Gary Moore..Candy Dulfer..Matt Smith..Scott Smith..Michael Hawley..Scott A. Smith..Jody Fisher..basically anyone and everyone who's ever grabbed a guitar and laid themselves out there open to the whole world..scars and all..the very best and very worst of themselves and delivered THEIR message and THEIR vision and not settling for status quo.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHoH7Og7tXA
Sounds Like: My music is a mixture of various influences..Rock, R&B. Metal, Blues, Classical, Funk and maybe even a few musical genres from a few other planets as well! But I seriously always try to play for a moment..for a song..to touch and affect people with vibrations and tones. The bulk of what I do is instrumental..but there are vocal moments in there too. I feel in my heart.. that the music doesn't come from me and despite the spectacle of live performance..really isn't even about me..I like to think that I feel it flowing through me from someplace else. I know that I'm EXTREMELY blessed by God to do what I do for a living and each song..each note that colors my mood and my day are truly gifts from Heaven.
