About Me

Kayti Didriksen began "painting" at a very young age. Her mother would give her a bucket of water and a paintbrush and she would "paint" the house the slight change in green color amused her for hours. Her formal education began at Suitland Visual and Performing Arts High School and continued at The Maryland Institute, College of Art where she earned a B.F.A in printmaking. Upon graduation she travelled around the United States, working in Tampa at Graphicstudio and Berghoff Cowden Editions where she worked in collaboration with Roberto Juarez who won the Prix de Rome later that year (1996). She worked as a master printer in Austin TX, a papermaker/ bookbinder in Portland, OR as well as serving on the board of Directors for the Northwest Print Council before heading back to her hometown of Washington D.C. and starting Offbeat Interiors with Stacey Matarrese. The two split in 2004 and Didriksen focused on developing her style in the studio and is rarely seen without her sketchbook, the blind contour drawings that fill it's pages serve a reserve for future paintings. She currently resides in Philadelphia and is always looking for artists to collaborate with. To see more of her work visit Kaytidid.com
