GRAPHIC DESIGN

~ Logo design~ CD/DVD layout design~ Promotional posters, cards, and mailers~ Website layout and design~ Web banners~ Video editingDesigner - Jason Thompson - BIO I was born in Fresno, CA and moved to the small town of Frazier Park, CA at the age of 6. By the age of 4 I had already started showing interests in music and art. By the age of 11 I got my first guitar and learned how to play from Mel Bay books. At about 13, I had gone through the first 5 Mel Bay books and my father got me into guitar lessons.Having always been a musician I had a creativity that I couldn't ignore, but still found myself wanting to use that creativity for other things as well. So I began to draw. More for fun than anything, but I found that what I was doing was pretty good! After high school (a couple years after) I started a band called CONTORTION with my good friends Nate, Adrian and Chris. We were the first band to come out of that little town that catered to a younger crowd. We played for 4 years until we went our separate ways.In 1999 I moved to Santa Barbara penniless. Artistically, it was a turning point in my life. I began writing lyrics that were very much a look back at my past. My lyric writing was an outlet of emotions that I had pent up over the years. But at the same time, my art was beginning to take shape as well.Still being a musician and needing that outlet, I found a group of guys that needed a singer and was the frontman for the Santa Barbara underground metal band, DOMINION. Playing with bands such as Motograter (Before they got singed and went commercial) and Shadowdrop, as well as many more.I moved to Los Angeles in 2001 with my then girlfriend (now wife) Elizabeth. I got together with a guy and we ended up forming the L.A. based mega-thrash band FLATLINE. It was at that time that I went to graphic design school and learned how to make my ideas come to life visually. Doing designs for my band helped build my skills and got my work out there. It also helped the band because we didn't have to pay anyone to do it!Doing freelance design is what I love to do because I get to pick and choose the jobs that I want. I have done website designs for large companies as well as done banners for local bands. I like to help bands with their graphics because I know how hard it is to be in a band with a small ammount of money to spend. It's nice to help out fellow musicians and get them some kick ass, professional quality designs for rock bottom prices. (Sometimes even free... but that requires a little ass kissing on the band's part!)After 5 years in FLATLINE I recently quit to pursue other opportunities... including more designing as well as managing up and coming bands.Powergroove Industries Owner and designer, Jason and his beautiful wife Elizabeth
