About Me

Back when I was 17 I went to a house party and there was this dude making crazy techno-electronic music on his computer there. He called himself a “tracker,” and I was so impressed because I hadn’t seen anything like that before. We ended up becoming really good friends and he eventually became my mentor. The problem with Richard Bolland was the fact that he was diagnosed as a clinical schizophrenic and this posed several problems because he was a genius in his own right but the talent that he possessed was a tragedy when you’re in the state of mind. Regardless of the situation he taught me the art and made me experience what music is in all of its essences. My first year in University I started making music for myself, my own songs, my own experimentations without any real knowledge about music composition of any sort. I started using Fruity Loops I think it was version 3 or something and I developed a series of songs but had a difficulty in wanting to do more. I felt that the program at the time was lacking in creativity and I needed something more, something to paint the picture more accurately. Later that year I picked up Propellerhead’s Reason and the program is a creative studio with endless possibilities. When I started off I scrapped my roots and started making Hip Hop because I love Hip Hop and I wanted to make music that I listen to more so then any other music. In University I was studying Film and something changed in me, I became obsessed with cinematic music and began to explore how music and emotions can change and affect the audience. It’s incredible because it is so true how music in a film can captivate an audience by making them feel a variety of emotions. That idea in itself made me question what I’m doing as a music maker. I stopped and started fresh and began making music for me not for anyone else, throwing out the conventions and just started creating much like an artist does when they paint or whatever the medium is. I told myself that I didn’t want to be bounded to one specific thing that I also wanted to explore and create and not necessarily have a “signature style.” That’s why when you hear my music you’ll hear very melodic instrumentals then you’ll hear something industrial with aggressive lyrics. I want to be able to create and compose based on emotions and emotions themselves are unique from one to the next.Recently I started working with other artists who convinced me to step out and explore different avenues of expression and I’ve been busy creating new sounds and new music. I was once asked, “Why I make music?” And basically, I love making music because when I go through experiences and emotions I use music to document these moments. When your girlfriend cheats on you or when your friends are too good to talk to you anymore there comes a time where instead of going out and getting drunk you can easily make a kick ass song that will last forever to identify that moment in time. I try and capture those experiences that we have in life and bring it to you, thinking maybe you’ll feel the same and connect.
