About Me

Mike LaBo is a born Mid-westerner turned Southerner turned New England Yankee turned Yankee/Southerner mutant. At 17, He left home to work in the auto industry which lead to a "jack of all trades" employment style. He picked up guitar later while atttending college in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Soon afterwards, he began writing his three-chord ditties. The vibrant music scene there is never short on inspiration and collaboration. His time in the Boro exposed him to a wider music range than his Detroit-area, classic rock upbringing. Old-timey and blues swept over him while influences from progressive rock and friends like the Juan Prophet Organization inspired eclectic approaches to music.---------------------------------------------------- Mike LaBo employs these aspects in his music. His approach to writing is very simple and his song forms are mostly traditional and folksy. Mike tries to balance the simple forms with a post-modern lyricism that fits our increasingly frenetic culture.---------------------------------------------------- -He can also write some very, very sad songs.--------------------------------Do you like American music? I like American music."-------------Mike LaBo-------------------------------------------------------- ---------- ---Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
