About Me

MOLLY WHO?
Molly Flowers is the principal character of the animated film...
"BEING BRADFORD DILLMAN"(Written and directed by Emma Burch & Peter Williamson.)
Emma and Pete hope for the film to be completed in 2009. This site has been set up for anyone who wants to follow the film's progress. Thanks for looking!SYNOPSIS:'Being Bradford Dillman' is a dark and humorous tale of a Mother and Daughter relationship shadowed by alcohol, loneliness and a dislike of boys. When bullied Molly Flowers declares a dislike for boys, her boozy and self medicated mother invents a story to shock her into a more sympathetic view. The tale – of how Molly had actually been born a boy called Bradford Dillman but had her willy chopped off to become a daughter – then takes on a life of its own. Especially as the willy remains in her bedroom. The proof, in the shape of the shoe box which apparently contains the offensive item, lies on top of the wardrobe. Covered in six and a half years worth of dust and far beyond her reach, it now looms over everything she does.Sensitive, lonely and introspective (and very much at the mercy of her Mum's boozy sense of humour) she soon becomes profoundly affected, inspired even, by the idea of an alter ego. What became of the little boy that she would have been but for her life-changing penis-chopping? Her over-active imagination manifests itself in the arrival of Bradford Dillman.Until now an only child with just the bullies outside in the street for company, Molly finds that she now has a friend, enemy and general partner-in-crime with whom she can while away the seemingly endless days of childhood. And so, while her Mum sleeps off the booze on the sofa, Molly steps into a secret, dream-like world where she and Bradford are able to play and play to their hearts content.
As Molly escapes into Bradford’s world, she finds more confidence and fun, but when her mother’s pickled mind denies all knowledge of the tale, who will she choose to believe in?
