The band was formed in 2002 and rapidly gained its popularity among Moscow surf-and-twang music fans. Hula Hoop toured around a large number of cities, including St.Petersburg, Sochi, Ekaterinburg, Volgograd, Tula, Voronezh, etc. Three albums were released and a new one is under way. Hula Hoop's music is rotated on many internet radiostations and several FM-stations. The group had TV appearances. Hula Hoop was the opening act for such headliners as Red Elvises(USA), Mark Harman(UK), Meantreators(Germany), Quakes(USA), Tito&Tarantula(USA)
