"...it (is) really quite inspirational. A bit of a masterpiece..."
Laura Bethel, Maverick Magazine
"(Tinderbox) serve-up a delicate menu of intricate strings and lighter-than-air melodies...The sweetly constructed arpeggios and harmonies of this set's ballad, 'You', and the cultivated production of the title track capture the heart and demands repeated plays. Delectable."
Musician Magazine (Musician's Union)
"A selection of glowing embers with songs that convey tenderness and joy to rekindle your spirits...Tinderbox are indeed poised to ignite the acoustic folk world. It's flaming good!"
Andy C, Maverick Magazine

Tinderbox - Travelling (2008)
Introducing Tinderbox:
Tinderbox are an acoustic folk/rock duo featuring Monique Houraghan with a distinctive 'honey-like' vocal, and Dan Tucker with an intricate finger style guitar technique.
Often joined by accomplished and talented musicians Catherine Burke (whistles), Gav Jones (percussion) and Bobby Burke (bass/vocals/guitar) Tinderbox also perform and record as a formidable folk/rock band.
Both duo and full band performances continue to receive excellent reviews, even being described by one German critic as 'a miracle in a small matchbox'.
After four creative years living in Dublin between 1997 and 2001 the duo spent two years travelling the world. During this time they acquired an agent in Australia and performed dozens of gigs in Melbourne and Sydney. This provided vital experience and also helped to further enhance their repertoire. Tinderbox have since performed in countries ranging from Germany, Hong Kong and Fiji, to New Zealand, Australia and Thailand.
On their return to the UK in late 2004 Monique and Dan settled in Bournemouth where they stayed. Tinderbox have since been promoting their music through live performances, both studio and live recordings, and through their official website:
www.tinderboxacoustic.com
2007 to 2009 have seen Tinderbox perform a number of headline shows to capacity crowds. Additionally, they have played support sets for a number of talented and high-profile acts including Cara Dillon & Sam Lakeman, Kris Drever, Ralph McTell, Uiscedwr, Chris Difford, Megson, Marcia & Damian Howard, Little Johnny England, Jez Lowe, Mike Silver and Johnny Coppin.
May 2008 saw the release of Tinderbox's third Studio album. 'Golden' was launched at Centre Stage in Bournemouth, with the band performing to a record-breaking audience. Helped by a promotional concert at 'Borders' music store on June 26th, the album is flying off the shelves and has already received numerous excellent reviews.
Maverick Magazine recently described 'Golden' as "Quite inspirational really...a bit of a masterpiece". Maverick went on to describe Tinderbox as "Poised to ignite the acoustic folk world...". Acoustic Magazine will feature a review of 'Golden' in their August edition.
In April 2009 the Tinderbox duo took to the road to undertake a successful two week, ten show, tour around the UK to promote the 'Golden' album. The tour began and finished in Bournemouth and included such destinations as Bristol, Derby, Fife, Edinburgh, Cambridge and Coventry amongst others. The response was fantastic.
With Monique's powerful voice, Dan's delectable guitar style and the band's awesome addition to the entire sound and feel of the music, Tinderbox is definitely an acoustic act to look out for.
