About Me

I was born in 1971 in Padova (Italy).I started to play guitar when I was 16 as self-taught. In 1993, I studied Jazz Guitar and Harmony with Prof. Italo De Angelis for three years and than I attended the Summer School Classes by the “Berklee College of Music” (Boston) during the event called “Umbria jazz” (1996).I attended many clinics such as: Wolfgang Muthspiel, Scott Henderson; Michael Manring, Pat Metheny. In 2002 I frequented the “Universita’ della Musica” in Rome and had the diploma after three years of studies. In 2003 I studied with Prof. Fabio Zeppetella.I played many genres from 1989 both live and in studio.In 2004 I moved to Japan and continued playing in many festivals and places such as “Jozenji Street Jazz Festival” (Sendai) and “Niigata Jazz Street” festival as solo player or as member in small jazz groups. In 2007 I recorded a CD called “Beginning Blues”, in duo with the japanese bass player Satoshi Azuma. Check out my official site: fabiobottazzo.com
