Born in London but brought up by the beach at Bondi (Sydney) in a household constantly surrounded by music, it was inevitable Alice would develop a love for music. Following an early fling with the saxophone she quickly moved on to piano which is now her principle composing instrument, though voice was always her passion.
Dabbling in songwriting from around the age of 12 it wasn't until she left school that she really discovered the magic of it. Since then she's been hooked. "I couldn't imagine my life without songwriting. It's a great form of therapy - and a damn site cheaper than a shrink!", says Alice.
Alice's song "Maybe Someday" came 6th and "This Love" 11th in the coffee houses section of the Australian Songwriting Association 2002 competition. Her songs "Falling Again" and "This Love" were in the top 30 of the Songwriting Society of Australia Competition for 2002. Alice also was in the top ten out of 1000 entries in the Australian wide Stuart Stuart Unsigned Artist Competition for 2003.
It was in early 2003 that Alice packed her bags and boarded a plane headed for London where she spent the next 8 months working, songwriting and recording tracks for herself and as a session singer as well as travelling around Europe. "Going overseas was the best thing I could have done for myself," she says. "When you're constantly out of your comfort zone you grow at this amazing accelerated pace which was just what I needed."
Since then Alice has been busy playing her originals around Sydney as well as pitching her songs to artists both in Australia and overseas.
