Ransom Records was the brains of North Carolina rap legends Jay Rip, and Young Free in late 2004. Both artists with Nu-Era Music, wanted to start a label that would bring quality music, and integrity back to the hip-hop scene. In early 2006, along with Nu-Era Music, Ransom Records signed Nick Nolte, and Keith. Now with Spank, and Mayo in the roster, Nu-Era Music is a dreamteam. With J-Phil being added as the labels DJ, and Executive of Music Operations, the label is now prepping their release as a collective, The Takeover Vol. 1: We Fly High. With a joint venture deal with Nu-Era, Ransom Records is prepared to become the hottest label that North Carolina has ever seen. Now in 2008, Nu-Era Music is dead and now has become Black Sunday Music. It will consist of not only rap artists but r&b and rock artists. Black Sunday will create a big effect on the whole music scene.
