Keith McNamara

About Me

Keith McNamara was born in central Victoria. He first took to the stage performing in school musicals. After graduating, he honed his craft working in television and appearing in full-scale theatrical productions including Les Miserables and Jesus Christ Superstar.

During this time Keith and his brother John began their song writing partnership while working in a cover band, paying their dues in clubs and pubs all over the state.
In 1999 they decided to ditch the cover work and concentrate solely on their own original material. They formed their new band STORM FRONT and quickly earned a reputation as one of Melbournes hardest working live acts.
In 2000 the band recorded their debut album STORM FRONT ROUND 1. They continued to tour and perform, dazzling crowds with their energetic live shows and musicianship. STORM FRONT ROUND 1 was finally released in 2002, elevating the bands profile to a national level with their first single SLEAZE and its controversial video receiving radio and television airplay all over the country.
Sadly in 2003 while preparing to record their second album STORM FRONT disbanded. The split was mutual and all members remain close friends.
In 2004 Keith began work on his first solo album Above the Rain, collection of 12 songs full of sweeping melodies and heartfelt lyrics that perfectly showcase Keiths powerful emotive voice.
Above the Rain was released in November 1st 2005.
In what is officially the biggest CD giveaway by any Australian artist, a free copy of Keiths album was included in the 2006 Tamworth Music Festival Guide.
This means that in one week 25,000 music fans took home a copy of Keith McNamaras ABOVE THE RAIN, making it one of the most widely owned, fastest moving independent Australian releases of 2006.
Since the CD giveaway, Keiths star has continued to rise, sharing the stage with many Australian music stars, including Cossima Devito, Lee Kernaghan, Adam Harvey, Adam Brand & Felicity Urquhart. Maton Guitars have named him as one of their supported artists and the singles Im Not the One and Through different Eyes have both received national video/radio airplay.
In 2007 Keith enroled to study Music Theatre full time at the Victorian College of the Arts. He also toured as a cast member of 'Click Go The Shears' ( A celebration of Australia and it's music).
Keith & his brother John reformed Storm Front with virtuoso rhythm section Dean Gaudoin (Bass) and Daniel Luttick (Drums) to join former MR BIG vocalist Eric Martin on his first Australian tour. Storm Front not only served as the support act but also as Eric Martins backing band. Keith then went on to perform the role of Frederick in the VCA's production of 'A Little Night Music'.
