Daniel was born on March, 12th 1984 in Schwelm, Germany. Since his early childhood he was interested in music, especially in percussion-instruments and of course drums. From that moment on, at the age of 8, his talent was supported by his parents, private drumteachers (Oliver Eichmann, Fritz Theimann, Boris Biebl), and by his first formation, the Schwelmer Junior BigBand, in which he played 4 years. Further formations and bands that followed were the Saxophon-Combo der Musikschule Gevelsberg, Cry Baby (Blues-Rock: gigs in Germany and the Netherlands) and Finn (Pop-Rock: CD-release, radio and tv-shows, Poland-Tour). Since 2001 Daniel gives private drumlessons and also works as a drumteacher at the MusicStore Musikschule in Hagen.
After finishing school in 2003 Daniel studied drums at the Drummers Institute in Düsseldorf (GER), first partner-school of the worldwide known Collective in N.Y. (USA), and got his diploma for being the best drum-student 2004/2005. At the D.I. he got drumlessons from Jan Rohlfing (GER), Andy Gillmann (GER), Phil Maturano (USA), Ulf Stricker (GER), Bruce Becker (USA), Wim deVries (NL), ...
Daniel is studying jazz and pop music in Arnhem (NL) at the ArtEZ hogeschool voor de kunsten (teachers: René Creemers and Joop van Erven) and works as a freelancer or with his new electro-project Becker vs. Knop that will release a 2nd record in 2008.
Now, after his study at the Drummers Institute two years ago, Daniel also will be working as a drumteacher at the D.I. from 2007 on!
