Well, considering I've seen my idol BERNADETTE PETERS 27 times, and she recognizes me every time I see her, I think I've pretty much died and gone to heaven... which is where I'd have to go to meet most of the other people I'd like to meet: LUCILLE BALL..... GILDA RADNER..... AUDREY HEPBURN..... VIVIAN VANCE..... DESI ARNAZ..... JUDY GARLAND..... MARY MARTIN..... ETHEL MERMAN.***BELOW: Gilda Radner as Nadia Comaneci in her Broadway show, GILDA LIVE***Among the living I'd like to meet: LUCIE ARNAZ (It's gotta happen- I've been set up to meet her and been jipped out of it by the hands of fate WAY too many times now!)...... GILLIAN ANDERSON...... DAVID DUCHOVNY...... JONATHAN TAYLOR THOMAS (the hearthrob of my youth!)...... ROBIN WILLIAMS (never met him face-to-face, but I did see him perform live once)...... TOM HANKS...... MADONNA...... CAROL BURNETT...... BETTE MIDLER...... KATHY GRIFFIN...... ELLEN DEGENERES...... MEGAN MULLALLY.*** BELOW: Lucie Arnaz and Jim Bailey sing "Friendship"***Performers I have met: the aforementioned BERNADETTE PETERS!..... MANDY PATINKIN..... JULIE ANDREWS (she wouldn't pose for pictures, though)..... LIZA MINNELLI (although I'd love to meet her again because maybe I could get my tongue untied and actually speak more than two words to her this time!)..... DANIELLE FERLAND (the original Red Ridinghood in "Into the Woods" and the original Louise in "Sunday in the Park With George". I actually shared the stage with her- we led a Sondheim sing-a-long during my professional debut production!)..... JOHN BARROWMAN (a fabulous star of the West End and many big and small screen productions- look for him singing "Night and Day" in "De-Lovely" and "Springtime for Hitler" in the Producers movie!)..... FRANKIE AVALON (during my Tony 'n Tina days. I guess you could say I performed with him too... although he barely spoke two words to me during the brief interactions we had together during the show!).....*** BELOW: John Barrowman sings "I Am What I Am"***Seeing as I worked part-time in a book store for 8 1/2 years, I have also met many people who have written books- some who are famous figures and some who are simply wonderful writers: JODI PICOULT (who I've seen every year since 2002. She is my absolute favorite author, not to mention the nicest person you could ever hope to meet, and my fellow U3 member. U3? It's our rock band and we're pretty gosh darn good! We kick butt on anything Linda Ronstadt and "For Good" from "Wicked"!)..... LISA WILLIAMS (She's a very gifted medium who had a show on Lifetime called "Life Among the Dead" and will have a new show on Lifetime in the fall. Watch it. I guarantee you will be amazed. She's an incredibly nice person. I got to help out with her signing at Borders.)..... JAMES VAN PRAAGH (Another very gifted medium, whose signing I helped out with as well. He's also an incredibly nice person.)..... JIMMY CARTER... (Well, kind of. He did an event at our store but I didn't get to talk to him. I got to sell his books, but I didn't get to talk to him. Not that I'm bitter about that or anything...)..... JANET EVANOVICH..... SOPHIE KINSELLA (although not in the store I work at)..... NORA ROBERTS..... CATHERINE COULTER..... and lots more!
