About Me
Mission statementHeads Up Productions is an arm of the Peter Halmos Family Foundation. It’s goals and mission is as follows:1. To provide emerging talent in the music and film industry an outlet for work, and in doing so
2. offer other not for profit organizations the output of these efforts to assist them in their fundraising and conscious raising efforts. As such, Heads Up produces benefit concerts, documentaries, and fundraising videos addressing a social agenda who’s primary focus is children and families in crisis.Heads Up Productions, an arm of the Peter Halmos Family Foundation, is currently producing a documentary whose focus is on the young man or woman, in foster care, about to turn 18 years of age.“Aging Outâ€, or emancipation, is a problem long overshadowed by the problems of the foster care system itself, but it represents a very real issue which the general public has little or no knowledge of. Most of these young people are left with no alternative but to live on the streets or in homeless shelters, and are forced by circumstance to continue to be clients of the state and federal government, but as criminals, not foster kids.Through our documentary, we hope to awaken in the viewing population a real sense of concern for this issue, and to force activism; effect change, provide and attempt solutions, and in short, make a difference in the lives of young people. It is our hope, that through this project, an 18 year old without a traditional family will have all the tools necessary to not only survive, but succeed. If you are or were a recipient of foster care, a professional who worked with foster youth, a foster parent, or an adult supporter of programs designed to work with emancipated foster youth, and you wish to be involved in this project, please contact us at or .
