市å·é–å(ART@AGNES AGNES HOTEL ART FAIR代表)
Born in 1978. Born and raised in Tokyo. Under the influence from her grandmot her, the professor for Kado and Sado, she took an interest in Japanese culture and art, and enrolled Joshi Art University in 1998 and majored in Nihon-ga. Her private exhibitions were held in Tokyo in 2003, 2004 and 2007 along with lots of group exhibitions. She uses leaves as a motif to express their vigor.
Emi Harukusa, who continues to exhibit her paintings at GEISAI, organized by Takashi Murakami, studied nihon-ga (Japanese traditional style painting) in college, and proceeded to become a contemporary artist like Murakami before her. Their techniques may be different, but there is definitely a link between her contemporary interpretation of Japanese aesthetics in choosing delicate coloring and Murakami's own unique interpretive style. This young female painter's name in kanji (Chinese characters) can be translated as "Spring grass, tomorrow's picture".
---Kiyoshi Kusumi, former editor-in-chief of the art magazine Bijutsu Techo
A dance of life, light and color. And a slight touch of erotic feeling. The canvas resounds with diffused reflections and turns the whole gallery into another world consumed with light, much like a day dream. And we all will be enshrouded with a tender floating sensation like being sent away to a time and being that once seemed so far away.
---Soko Jinsaki, artist &poet
If I'm a fan of "true" art, I'll go up see her private exhibition without hesitation. I've already booked the flight to New York.
