E-WHY

About Me

Originality, freedom of self-expression, creativity..all pillars upon which the artform of Hip Hop was founded. Sadly, the commercial state of today's music has strayed from the complex wordplay and life-affecting plotlines in favor of high-fashion, high sales, and dance moves. There remain, however, a small contigent of artists dedicating to keeping the original artform alive and well. E-Why (born Eddie Young III) is dedicated to just that. A self-starter who has taken it upon himself to distribute his music to the world by any means possible.Born and raised in Gary, Indiana--an industrial city just east of Chicago once known as the birthplace of the legendary Michael Jackson and his group The Jackson 5, now more reputed for it's high crime and per-capita homicide rates. Though heavily influenced by Eazy-E and the west-coast gangsta rap of the early/mid 1990s, E-Why used sports and writing as a means of avoiding the gang life. After an unfortunate accident left E-Why with a broken neck at the age of 22 and ended the possibility of a sports career, E-Why quietly disappeared and embarked upon a remarkable journey. Now 4 years later, E-Why has emerged and he is back and ready to deliver. He opens his soul and life for all to see through intricate tales weaved in song. Time after time his lyrics will capture and leave you mesmerized from song start to finish.
