RYORCHESTRA　are bold enough to improvise in somewhat violent way while playing their own elaborately composed songs and they dare to do that even on stage. Their music shows good contrasts between construction to destruction, discipline to disorderliness, life to death or whatever opposite things comes up to one's dualistic mind.
Group's leaderOno Ryokocuts up the songs in the middle of them and conducts other members by using cards on each of which one word is written in Japanese character like "轟LOUD","静SILENT","速FAST","遅SLOW","無NO SOUNDS" and etc. Ryoko composes most songs , sings, and plays keyboards ,saxophone and flute . The lyrics are all written by her in her own language "Ranguage" and this may people remind of MAGMA or RUINS.Actually Ryoko often plays with RUINS' drummerYoshida Tatsuyaand he once played in RYOCHESTRA in '07.
They call themselves as "Progressive-Impro-Rock band" and so far played several shows in Nagoya and Tokyo.
A variety of Nagoya resident musicians are members of RYOCHSTRA. Usui Yasuhirois a well-known improviser and plays with many free-jazz /avant-garde artists like Elliot Sharp ,Satoko Fujii and etc. He also plays in Shibusa-Shirazu and Flyline which is a guitar duo with Kei,another guitarist of RYOCHSTRA.
Kei once played in a super-loud experimental rock group named "HANADENSHA" in Osaka for nearly 10 years. Lately he's been working with many types of music/musicians. Both Usui and Kei are running each cd labels named BAKAMO-records andCOUP label .Kei and　 RYOCHSTRA's　 vocalist Sayuri Nishimoto are from acoustic duo names ett .They have three cd releases and on the latest one Ryoko plays saxophone.Sayaka Shiraki,another vocalist of orchestra sings jazz/pop tunes in local bands. She sings mostly the lower part in RYOCHESTRA and shows powerful performances.Bass player Yasutomo Ishigaki also plays jazz, funk and sometimes pop/rock music in other bands.Among them" next order " has just released a cd . He teaches music and bass-guitar playing in Nagoya.Drummer Masayoshi Awano is also a music teacher and plays many types of music like as Ishigaki.Though Awano is youngest among group's members, he's suspected to be an alcoholic.What makes thus musically-different musicians together is a love of music and a sense of humor.
