Started DJing in 2001. Initially played a funky hard techno with the mixed sounds of electro, chicago techno, hard minimal and so on, but made a gradual transition to a deep and minimal techno.
After about two years playing at gay night clubs, Toshiko made a break as a techno DJ at the techno party to which she got an offer to by chance. At the same time, she started the techno party ‘tropfen’ and begun searching for more deeper and experimental sounds.
In 2004, three years after the DJ debut, made the move into the legendary techno club ‘MANIAC LOVE’, performing as the opening act for such artists as Dr. Shingo and Fumiya Tanaka.
Basing the activities around the performance as the residency at underground parties, Toshiko gradually expanded the performance arena. In 2006, was made an offer from Japan’s representative club ‘WOMB’ as a subfloor DJ. Other areas of work includes: Resident party of Ishino Takkyuu, 2nd floor for ‘STERNE’, resident for ‘epicure lounge’, as well as performing as a subfloor DJ for overseas artists like Jeff Mills & Sleeparchives and 2Many DJ’s when they were performing in Japan.
In 2007, 5 years into a life as a DJ, Toshiko took time off from performing to let the body and mind recover.
And in spring of 2008, Toshiko resumed performing again equipped with a new sound with more emphasis on rhythm and groove, a sound born from the time of self reflection during the off time. At the same time, she began music production in laptops. Like picking out an unknown object from an unknown place, she is forming into music the whisper of sound that well out from the unsoiled, inner self.
