Saiko Nakamura, a Tokyo based composer, was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido.
She developed an early interest in musical composition through her interest in film.
In high school she continued to develop her talents by studying film and ethnic music.She Studied Composition course of Department of Music, Nihon University College of Art. And she went to Tokyo College of Music, focusing on music composition for 2 years.
Studied music composition under Shin'ichiro Ikebe, Matsuki Watamura and Hitoshi Yoshida.She was awarded a prize in 1999, First Place, Shinano Mainichi Newspaper Heidenroslein concert (composition for vocal music) ,
And 1999 The Citizen of Sapporo Art Festival, "Distant fireworks - mindscape from five Haiku poems" (for 3 Shakuhachies)Published CD book and Succeeded in a big seller, "Castanets of Spain -for children's percussion ensemble" (2004/ Ongakunotomosha corp.) in Japan.Now she's active in composition for Film music, classical concerts, TV Commercial Message,Children's music,and so on.
Maltese newspaper, "TIMES of Malta" reported about Saiko's profile when Saiko visited there in 2005.
